Participant Profile

This event is designed for data professionals involved in statistical modernisation and technical implementation, including data engineers, IT specialists, methodologists, metadata experts, data managers and statisticians.
Participants are expected to have experience with SDMx, metadata or data exchange systems, be familiar with data modelling concepts, and have basic knowledge of APIs or scripting, especially for the hackathon.

Technical Requirements

Participants are required to bring a laptop suitable for hands-on exercises and to use browser-based SDMx tools during the workshop.
For Day 3, participants should be able to run simple scripts or use APIs. Access to platforms such as GitHub may be required. A detailed technical checklist will be provided in advance.

Pre-event Preparation

Confirmed participants will receive access to pre-event materials and invitations to primer webinars covering SDMx 3.0 fundamentals, APIs and MCP concepts, and AI applications in official statistics.
Participants are expected to have completed prior SDMx training, for example through the .Stat Academy.

Pre-requisites & Recommended Preparation

As this is an intermediate to advanced technical event, participants are expected to have completed prior SDMx training before attending with familiarity of the SDMx Information Model essential. We strongly recommend completing relevant courses available through the SDMx Learning Resources (e.g. .Stat Academy), including introductory SDMx modules where appropriate. This preparation is vital to ensure you can fully engage with and benefit from the capacity-building sessions and hackathon activities.

Online registration will be available until June 30, 2026, through the official registration form provided by the OECD. Only those who are officially confirmed as final participants following this registration will be authorized to attend the workshop.

Financial support provided by the Ministry of Data and Statistics (MODS) of Korea will be selected and notified

Please note: Lunches and coffee breaks will be provided during the workshop period for all participants.

Application & Selection Procedure

• Step 1: Complete your registration for the workshop through the official OECD online registration form.

• Step 2: Once registration is completed, the funding recipients will be carefully selected based on their SDMx expertise and to ensure a balanced regional representation across countries.

• Step 3: Selected recipients will receive a separate notification via email with further instructions regarding travel arrangements.
